Suzanna Fowlkes Riddle

Suzanna Dell Fowlkes Riddle was a caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at age 78.
Suzanna was born in Petersburg, Virginia on February 27, 1944 to Clinton Fowlkes and Nancy Lee Stewart Laine. Suzanna lived in beloved Colonial Heights, Virginia and was an active member of First Baptist Church, serving as a deacon until her passing. She worked at the Colonial Heights public school system for over 35 years, with the majority of her time at Lakeview Elementary. Even after her retirement, she continued to serve the school system by substituting and helping out at all the schools. She loved the students, and they all loved "Mrs. Riddles," as many called her.

She is preceded in death by her father, Clinton Fowlkes; mother, Nancy Laine; stepfather, Richard G. "Jack" Laine; and her brother, Richard G. "Ricky" Laine, Jr.
She is survived by her sister, Jackie Laine Gibbs; one daughter, Alicia Riddle Lingerfeldt; one grandson, Austin Lingerfeldt; and two nieces, Kayla King and Heather Snyder.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 29, 2022 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home at 103 S. Adams St., Petersburg, VA. The funeral will be held at First Baptist Church on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at 11:00 am at 235 W. Washington St., Petersburg, VA. Interment will follow at Blandford Cemetery.
