Sydney Owen Clarke

Sydney O. Clarke, 84, from San Fernando, Republic of Trinidad and Tobago peacefully passed on October 6, 2023. Sydney was the son of Joseph Clarke and Stella Rampersad. Sydney had been a resident of Dinwiddie, Virginia for over 10 years and a beloved resident of the Dinwiddie Health and Rehab Center. Sydney's work included police officer, business owner, and as an electrician by trade, he worked on many industrial projects throughout New Jersey and New York.

Sydney is survived by his daughters, Debby, Della, Desie, Devera, and Dianne; son, Dane; sons-in-law, Bill, Michael and Randall; and daughter-in-law, Sharon; sister Teresa, along with nephews and a niece.

Sydney's passion and love for his grandkids gave him pleasure and comfort. Grandkids include Aaron, Darren, Denise, Devin, Marlon, Nicholas, Nicole, Rawn, Ryan, and Troy; granddaughters-in-law Christina, Lauren, and Nikol; great grandkids Chloe, Lexi, Tyler, Ashley, Mila, Cade, Aiden, Ava, Layla, Liam, Mikayla, Nicholas Jr., and Sienna.

Sydney has been living with paralysis and numbness of arms and legs for over 30 years. He truly was a fighter and never let his condition get in his way. Sydney's family is being served by the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
