Sydney Connelly

Sydney H. Connelly Jr., 83, of Hopewell, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2011. He was retired from Hercules in 1984 after thirty-five years of dedicated service as a Mechanical Engineer. He was a member of First Christian Church in Hopewell where he served as a Deacon and sang in the choir. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sydney H. Connelly Sr. and Mabel Connelly. Mr. Connelly is survived by his loving wife, Mary M. Connelly; sons, Sydney H. Connelly III and wife Pamela of Hopewell, Virginia, Buddy Mitchell and wife Lou of Prince George, Virginia; brothers, Bowen Connelly and wife Marcia of Minnesota, Craig Connelly and wife Linda of Chester, Virginia; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Bermuda Memorial Park in Chester, Virginia.
