Sydney Elizabeth Floyd, eight years of age, of Sutherland, Virginia received her angel wings in heaven on June 21, 2017. Elvin L. Floyd, II and Laura Floyd were blessed with her birth on April 20, 2009 in Midlothian, VA and what a wonderful day that was. Our Sydney will remain forever in the hearts of her best friend and sister Tulah (TuTu), many beloved aunts and uncles, cherished grandparents and cousins with whom she enjoyed an unbreakable bond. Although Sydney’s existence here on earth was too brief, every moment was filled with an abundance of love. We thank God that Sydney was spared from heartache and remained innocent of the world’s struggles. Sydney was beautiful inside and out. She was vibrant, caring and a true leader with a giving heart and a genuine soul. She loved her teacher Mrs. Harris and Sydney never settled for anything less than her best in school. Sydney was our valedictorian to be and now she will be our straight-A student forever. Sydney was artistic, creative, caring and giving. She had an endless imagination and loved playing. She enjoyed spending time on the lake with her family and swimming like a mermaid. Through her life she brought family and friends together and will forever be in the hearts of all who knew her smile. She will be blessed will eternal youth, beauty and innocence. She will be forever young. Forever rainbows. Forever unicorns. We invite the community to celebrate Sydney’s beautiful, perfect life. Bring your children and come casual for a family centered gathering. This is not a mourning of her death but an opportunity to remember and honor Sydney’s life. Her family invites anyone and everyone to join them at Ocran UMC, 20221 Cox Road, Sutherland, VA on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 3:00pm.Sydney was passionate about animals and loved her rescues Daisy and Chica. She dreamt of a future where she could rescue dogs. To celebrate that dream, in lieu of flowers, please make donations to Forgotten Tails, PO Box 595, Colonial Heights, VA 23834. “I’ll glide beyond the rainbows, I’ll drift above the sky, I’ll fly into wonder, Without ever wondering why”.
