Talmadge Leroy Hill

Talmadge Leroy Hill, 82, of Chester, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2014. Born in Milan, GA he was the son of the late Richard and Lola Spires Hill; and was also preceded in death by his son, Michael Richard Hill. Mr. Hill retired from the United States Navy as a Chief Aviation Electrician after 20 years of service. Following his retirement from the Navy he worked for 17 years as a life insurance agent for Acacia Life Insurance Company. Mr. Hill was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Belmont Ward. He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Vaughan Hill, a son, Scott Hill of Virginia Beach; three sisters, Corrine Howell of Vero Beach, FL, Inez Seller of Ft. White, FL and Lorraine Hill of Vero Beach, FL; one brother, Ivan Hill of Sylva, NC; two step-sons, Steven and Jeffrey Willis both of Chester; three step-daughters, Janet Willis of Richmond, Pamela Lomelin of Richmond and Donna Sprinkle of Leonardtown, MD; thirteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Belmont Ward. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, VA
