Tanya M. Lipford, 63, of Chester, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday October 27, 2021. She was born on November 19, 1957 in Penns Grove Township, Salem, NJ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Lipford; daughter, Catherine (Katie) Lipford, parents, John and Seline Todt; brother, John A Todt and wife Roxann; sister, Norene Lovdahl; her grandparents and several cousins. She is survived by a daughter, Kelly Lipford (Brandon); grandchildren, Kaishawn Lipford, Meghan Taylor, Adrionnah Lipford, Kamryn Lipford; sister, Jolene Cave (Michael), and brother-in-law, Ted Lovdahl of Newport News; sister-in-law, Elizabeth (Kitty) Wilson; and extended family and friends. Tanya grew up mostly in Petersburg and graduated from Petersburg High School in 1976. There, she went on to work at various places, but truly enjoyed her time as a bus driver for Dinwiddie Co. Public Schools. She hated when she had to give up driving because of several mini strokes. She lived throughout the tri-cities and finally settled in Chester, VA, where she lived until her passing. Her favorite color was purple, and she loved hummingbirds. She loved watching the Walking Dead, In the Kitchen with David, Little House on the Prairie, M*A*S*H, Mel’s Diner, and all the oldies. Tanya will be missed by her family and friends more than she ever thought, especially her grandchildren, but she will live on in their memories forever. She is no longer suffering or in any kind of pain. Continued prayers are greatly appreciated. Inurnment will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday November 13, 2021 at St John’s Catholic Church Cemetery.
