Thelma Lois Clark Browning, 90, Hopewell, VA passed away on Sunday, November 07, 2010, at Riverview Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Denton and Eva Viola Clark; her husband, Denzil Browning; brothers, Alvie, Charles, Dee and Lawrence Clark all of Oklahoma; sisters, Bertha Stotzel of California and Jewell Vice of Oklahoma. Thelma was a homemaker who traveled with her family though the military from coast to coast. For several years she worked as Assistant Manager for Mills Fabric in Hopewell where she did something she really loved. She was a talented craftsman of all needle crafts. Thelma is survived by her daughter, Patricia Wilson and husband Danny of Hopewell; three sons, John Browning of Petersburg, James and Robert Browning, both of Hopewell. She has six grandchildren, Kimberly Peppers, Michelle Colley, Brian Wilson, Jay Wilson, Rebecca Stokoe and Stephanie Shepherd. She has twelve great-grandchildren and many loved nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a sister, Elizabeth Russell of Oakland, California; a brother, Jessie Clark of Glenpool, Oklahoma; two sisters-in-law, Ruey Clark of Portalis, New Mexico and Josie Henzi of Burlington, N.C. She leaves a dear friend and neighbor, Hilda Bell. The family will receive friends at the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss Funeral Home November 9, 2010 from 6-8 pm. A graveside service will be held in Bermuda Memorial Park, Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 1 pm with Rev. Tom Taylor officiating. Condolences may be registered at
