Thelma Hannah Walden, 95, of Colonial Heights, Virginia, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, August 15, 2013. Born in Rockbridge County, Natural Bridge, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Hansbrough Hannah and Alice Barger Hannah, and the widow of the late Roger P. Walden of Berkeley, California; and was also preceded in death by her brother, John "Jack" H. Hannah. Thelma was very active at Second Chance Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir, participated in other church activities, and was the oldest member. She was a former member of Immanuel Baptist Church for over fifty years, she served in adult choir, sunday school teacher, training, union leader, WMU President, hand bell choir and children’s choir, member of Alpha Chapter #1, order of Eastern Star, member of Colonial Heights Court #10, Order of the Amaranth, and retired from Crater House Furniture, Inc., May 2004. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, adopted member of Nesmith family, Dorothy (Dottie) Nesmith, Melvin and Deborah Anderson and family, Frank and Carol Godwin, David and Janet Roberts, and many other special friends. A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Second Chance Baptist Church, Petersburg, Virginia with Reverend David Prather officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at her childhood church, High Bridge Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Natural Bridge, Virginia.
