Theresa Delbridge Buckner

Theresa Delbridge Buckner, 93, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 18, 2023. She was born on May 4, 1930, to the late Thomas Edward and Susie Emory Delbridge. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Gilbert A. Buckner; her grandson, Brian Andrew Buckner; and her eight brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her daughter, Lois Lancaster (Charles); her son, Gilbert "Gil" Buckner, Jr.; her grandsons, Gregory Lancaster (Lauren) and Kevin Lancaster (Regan); nine beautiful great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She spent over 30 years as a diligent public servant for Virginia State Welfare Department. She was a faithful member of Beulah United Methodist Church and a member of the Old Dominion Women's Club. The family would like to thank Brandermill Woods for their loving care and service they provided in the twilight of her life.

A service will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at 11 am, at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment at Bermuda Memorial Park will follow.
