Thomas Marvin Boyd

Thomas Marvin Boyd, 83, of Chester, VA passed away on Friday, September 25, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert L. Boyd, Sr. and Ophelia Gibbs Boyd; brother, Louis Boyd; and a sister Rebecca Ann Congdon. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Ruth Ruxton Boyd; a daughter, Kimberley Carroll; and son, Wayne Keith Boyd and wife Dawn; grandchildren, Benjamin, Taylor and Martha Jones; Reed and Blake Boyd; a brother, Herbert L. Boyd, Jr. and wife Sue; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Tom was a Navy veteran who served proudly during the Korean War. He was a member of Chester United Methodist Church for over 50 years and an avid outdoorsman and Thomas Dale Sports fan. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Chester United Methodist Church 12132 Percival St, Chester, VA 23831. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at the church. Contributions may be made to Chester United Methodist Church in honor of Tom.
