Thomas Winston Cotten, Jr., (aged 52) affectionately known as "Little Tommy," passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024, after a valiant fight against Dementia. Tommy closed his eyes peacefully in the comfort of his own home, surrounded by his devoted family, and when next he opened them; he was fully healed, standing in the majestic beauty of heaven, surrounded by generations of loving family and friends.
Born on June 30, 1971, in Petersburg, VA, Tommy was the cherished son of Thomas W. and Barbara H. Cotten, of Disputanta, VA, and the loving brother of Jennifer C. McGrane (Eric), of Chesterfield, VA., along with a host of family and friends who treasured him dearly.
Tommy graduated from Prince George High School, Class of 1993. He will be remembered for his joyful personality, infectious smile, and unconditional love. He never met a stranger and was a friend to all. Tommy appreciated beauty, particularly in people. He enjoyed music, dancing, and was an avid WWE fan - with John Cena being his hero. He was a member of the "The Super Kids Ministry" and was so excited each year to attend camp at Eagle Eyrie with his friends. Tommy competed in the Special Olympics and was a dedicated employee of PARC (Professional Adult Rehabilitation Center, Inc.) Services from 1993-2012.
Little Tommy loved spending time with his family, celebrating birthdays, and other special occasions more than anything else (except sweets). He will be greatly missed. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Mrs. Phyllis Parrish for the kindness, support, and devotion shown in caring for Tommy during his fight against Dementia.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, February 5, 2024, at Southlawn Memorial Park.
In Lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Tommy's name to either, Alzheimer's Association or Special Olympics (Area 16).
