Thomas Nelson Glenn

Thomas Nelson Glenn, 61, of S. Chesterfield, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Lindsey Glenn and Ernestine Reaves Glenn; and brother, Paul Glenn. Thomas served 20 years in the U.S. Army, completing a tour in Operation Desert Storm. He earned four Army Commendation Medals and was a five time recipient of the Good Conduct Medal. He was also a member of the American Legion. Thomas enjoyed watching college football and cheering on his favorite team, Penn State. He also loved spending time caring for his three beautiful granddaughters. He is survived by his wife, Ok Sun Glenn; two daughters, Nancy Payton Glenn and Cheryl Winfield (Stanley); three granddaughters, Akira Payton, Maria Payton and Kiana Payton; eight siblings, Roy Glenn, James Glenn, Anthony Glenn, John Glenn, Jacquline Coates, Peggy Wilder, Daisy Hall and Mary Glenn; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 151 W. Washington St., Petersburg, VA 23803. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral mass from 10:00 A.M until 11:00 A.M. The family is being served by the Petersburg Chapel of J.T.
