Thomas Elza Honn, 92, of Chester, VA passed away on Friday, October 28, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Cecil Honn. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Anna Lucille Honn; children, Thomas L. Honn and wife Lynn, Linda H. Masri and husband Nasser, Charles L. Honn and wife Deborah, Steven L. Honn and wife Jennifer; grandchildren, Tammie Lynn, Cory, Michael, Laith, Ryan, Zachary, Ashley, Amber, Brandon, Abigail, Allison, Brody Thomas, Damon, Andrew; and a great grand daughter, Gabriella; sisters, Jorja Henry and Katherine Van Voorhis. Mr. Honn was a retired Army veteran who served his country proudly in three different wars. He served during WWII in the European Theater, the Korean War and Vietnam War. During a thirty year career Mr. Honn received numerous medals including his Combat Infantryman Badge, European-African-Middle-Eastern Campaign Medal, the Bronze Star and Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm. Tom eventually retired but not before achieving the rank of Command Sergeant Major. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 3050 W. Hundred Rd. Chester, VA 23831. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the funeral home.
