Thomas Nichols

Thomas Andrew Nichols Sr., 64, of Bracey, VA, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2011. He is retired from the U.S. Army after twenty years of service. Mr. Nichols was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed participating in tournaments. He had a great amount of love for his family, and was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Mr. Nichols is preceded by his parents, Barney and Frances Lee Nichols; his first wife, Sarah Nichols; and his brother, Kenneth Nichols. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Nichols; daughters, Jennifer Hudson and Rachel Butler; son, Thomas Nichols Jr. and wife Heather; stepsons, Stephen Clary and wife Rebecca, and Robert Clary; grandchildren, Morgan, Bryanna, Matthew, and Michael Rhoten, Kacey, Elana, Thomas III, and Charles Nichols; and sisters, Mavis Klehm and Lois Nichols; and other family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 16, 2011 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at the funeral home with the Rev. Roy Arrington officiating. Interment will follow at Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens.
