Thomas John Petet, Sr.

Thomas John Petet, Sr., 68, of Prince George, VA, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023. He was the son of the late Frank Lewis Petet, Sr. and Mildred Ann Aquino. Thomas gave 24 years of service to the State of Virginia, both at the Science Museum of Virginia and the Virginia Community College System. In his leisure time, he enjoyed yard work, grilling delicious meals, fishing, fixing cars, and was a 4th degree knight of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Janice; son, Thomas, Jr.; daughter, Rachel DuVal (David); four siblings; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., on Sunday, January 29, 2023, at St. James Catholic Church in Hopewell, VA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, January 30, 2023, at St. James Catholic Church in Hopewell, VA. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Thomas' memory to Upstage Lung Cancer, a nonprofit organization that focuses on new life-saving methods for the early detection of lung cancer.
