Thomas Berrimond Scott

Thomas Berrimond Scott, our loving husband, father and Papa, born March 1, 1925, went to be with our Lord July 16, 2014.
He was preceed in death by his parents, Berrimond Thomas and Willie Diehl Scott of Dinwiddie, VA; sisters Mildred Bridgman of McKenney VA, Pattie Pond of Newport News, VA, and Mary Sue Amis of Washington, PA; and great-grandson Trevor Scott Chaplin of Dinwiddie, VA. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 62 years, Cynthia Royal Scott; his sister Katherine Turner of Newport News, VA; his sons, Thomas Edward ‘Ted’ and his wife Cheryl Austin Scott of Dinwiddie, and Berrimond Thomas ‘Bemmie’ and his wife Kathleen Gaye Scott of Colonial Heights.
He also leaves his grandchildren, whom he was very proud, Erica Scott Chaplin and husband Jason of Dinwiddie, Brandi Scott Davis and husband Daniel of Chesterfield, Berrimond Thomas Scott IV, Lewis Edward Scott, Anderson Royal Scott and Anna Meredith Scott of Colonial Heights; and great-grandchild Hunter Scott Chaplin of Dinwiddie – the light of his life; and many close family members and dear friends.
He was born on the family farm where he lived and proudly farmed all his life. He enjoyed gardening and sharing his bounty with the neighbors and friends and was handyman for all the surrounding neighbors. During his life he made many significant improvements to the farm and family house that will carry on to generations to come.
He was faithfully devoted to his family and his church, Crawford United Methodist Church in Dinwiddie, VA where he was a humble servant of our Lord and served as treasurer for almost 60 year. His mission in life was to maintain those family connections throughout the generations. He always looked forward to his grandchildren visits. Recently, he really looked forward to daily visits from his ‘Little Buddy’, Hunter coming down the lane on the 4-wheeler with his mom or dad to see him while sitting in the swing.
The family would like to thank everyone for all your prayers and support during this difficult time in our lives.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 20th, 4-6 pm at JT Morriss & Son Petersburg location. Funeral service will be Monday, July 21st, at 2:00 pm at JT Morriss & Son Petersburg Chapel.
