Thomas Aurelius Shelton

Thomas Aurelius Shelton, 85, of Richmond, passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen Carl and Nannie Robertson Shelton; loving wife, Margaret Elliott Shelton; and a brother, Allen Carl Shelton, Jr. Thomas was a Veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII; and a lifelong member of Branch’s Baptist Church on Broad Rock Boulevard. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather; and loved football, especially the Washington Redskins. He is survived by daughters, Barbara “Bobbie” Diane Shelton, and Betty S. Coleman and husband, Troy; grandchildren, Tyler and Hannah Coleman; and numerous nieces and nephews. Military honors will be rendered on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. with a visitation to follow until 8:30 p.m. at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will be in Glebe Landing Baptist Church Cemetery in Laneview, Virginia on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Branch’s Baptist Church, 3400 Broad Rock Boulevard, Richmond, Virginia 23234.
