Thomas Manning Tucker

Thomas Manning Tucker, 80, born November 8, 1944, to the late John Marshall Tucker and Katherine Thweatt Tucker, of McKenney, Virginia, died February 7, 2025. He was preceded in death by his brother, John M. Tucker, Jr.

He is survived by his brother, Frank T. Tucker; sister-in-law, Frances B. Tucker; three nieces, Katherine T. Olson (Michael), King T. Brady (William), and Deborah A. Meadows (John); nephew, Jonathan P. Tucker; and numerous great-nieces and nephews as well as extended family and friends.

Thomas attended Old Dominion University and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering Technology. Thomas joined the U.S. Army, and after his discharge with the rank of 1st Lieutenant from the U.S. Corp of Engineers, he served with the Virginia Department of Transportation for 42 years as a Bridge Safety Engineer. Thomas was an honorary member of McKenney Hunt and Fish Club.

A graveside service will be held at 2pm, on Friday, February 14, 2025, at the Church of the Good Shepherd Cemetery, 7800 Lew Jones Road, McKenney, VA 23872. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Church of the Good Shepherd, P.O. Box 357, McKenney, VA. 23872. The family is being served by J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home - Dinwiddie Chapel.
