Thomas Herman Van Pelt

Thomas Herman Van Pelt, 83, of Dinwiddie County, VA, died Wednesday, October 3, 2018. He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from AT&T after 38 years of employment. An avid sports fan, Mr. Van Pelt loved trains and his John Deere tractor, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He was an active member of Carson United Methodist Church. Mr. Van Pelt was preceded in death by his parents, Herman S. and Aileen Chambers Van Pelt. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Faye H. Van Pelt; his children, Regina V. Baxter (Allen) of Dinwiddie, Thomas F. Van Pelt (Lori) of Thomasville, NC, and Julie A. Van Pelt also of Dinwiddie; a granddaughter, Sydney M. Baxter, as well as several cousins. A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Carson United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends following the service.
