Thomas "Tommy" Morris Watkins, 64, of Dinwiddie County, passed away on November 25, 2024. Born April 4, 1960, in Petersburg, Virginia, he was the son of the late James Douglas Watkins, Sr. and Maude Watkins.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Patsy Watkins Williams.
He is survived by his brother, James Douglas Watkins, Jr. and his partner, Shirley, of Hopewell, Virginia; his sister, Judy Watkins McGregor and her husband, Dan, of Dinwiddie County; his nephew, Chad Barricks and his wife, Bri, of Dinwiddie County; four great-nieces, Hannah Barricks, Autumn Barricks, Aria Barricks, and Harper Barricks, of Dinwiddie County; several cousins from North Carolina, Sharon Nixon, BJ Williams, and Chrissy Elmore; and his brother-in-law, Brian Williams.
Tommy loved being around people and talking to them. He enjoyed getting in his pickup and riding. He loved his beagle, Peewee. His dog would always be in the truck with him. He loved going to yard sales. In his younger years, he also liked fishing and hunting.
Tommy worked for 32 years at Central State Hospital as a Food Transportation Driver.
He will be greatly missed but forever cherished in our hearts.
A visitation will be held at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM.
