Thurman Linwood Matthews

Thurman Linwood Matthews, 85, of N. Chesterfield, went to be with the Lord, his beloved wife, Charlsie Matthews, and son-in-law, Melvin Jordan on December 29, 2016. He left behind three proud children, Michael Matthews, Brenda Sprouse (Linwood), and Barbara Jordan Blevins (Ron); three grandchildren, Danielle Matthews, Ashley Matthews, and Melvin Jordan, Jr. Thurman was a veteran in the United States Air force. He was employed with Whitlow Chevrolet as an auto technician retiring after 42 years of service. In his free time he enjoyed playing his guitar, but his greatest passion was flying air planes. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 2, 2017 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
