Timothy Garrett Dobson, 59, met God on August 29, 2022, after battling cancer 3 times. He was born in Fredericksburg, Virginia and grew up in Chester, Virginia. He is predeceased by his beloved parents, Robert Franklin Dobson, Sr. and Barbara Ann Crotts Dobson.
Growing up he played baseball and in the band at school. After Graduating he held jobs at Ukrops, Hill Phoenix, and Crossflights. He loved and helped anyone who needed it and never complained. Timmy loved the outdoors and animals, and they loved him. He was a mechanic and loved it, loved fishing and football, especially the Redskins. He enjoyed playing in the band at church. He wanted to see his daughter and granddaughter every day. He had many friends that he loved and they loved him. Playing guitar and music was his life. He taught many to play guitar, bass, and drums. He was a great musician and succeeded in writing and recording songs. His band was called The Confederate Navy Band, he was very proud that his band was well known in the Metropolitan area.
He is survived by his devoted and beloved partner of 15 years, Millie Cothran; daughter, Erika Suzanne Dobson; granddaughter, Adryana Mariah Johnson; sisters, Diane Crowley, Cheryl Albert, and Cindy Bell; brothers, Steve Smith and Robert Dobson, Jr.; nieces and nephews, Carly Crowley, Travis Albert, Carrie Ann Hurley, Crystal Ann Albert, Brandon Bell, Morgan Wolf, and Randy Smith; and numerous other family members.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
