George Thomas â??Tommyâ? Tygrest Jr., 48 of Hopewell, died Monday, July 17, 2006 in Medical College of Virginia Hospital. He was a Firefighter for the City of Hopewell, a member of the Mason-Claremont Lodge, Moose Lodge Local 1472, Hopewell, Lifetime member of Hopewell Emergency Crew, and a Hopewell Deputy Sheriff. Tommy was born in Hopewell. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Thomas Sr. and Charlotte Cabaniss Tygrest, Surviving are his daughter, Mandy Saunders & husband Bobby, granddaughters, Joy & Jordan Saunders all of Hopewell, brother, James Richard Tygrest & wife Margaret of West Palm Beach, Fl., sisters, Deborah Tygrest Pulver, & husband Wally of Hopewell, Rose Marie Yancey of Atlanta, Ga ., Barbara Tygrest Bombardier & husband Paul of Hayward, CA.. Several nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 P.M., Wednesday, July 19, 2006 in the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held Thursday, July 20, 2006 at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bruce Bevans, pastor of St. Johnâ??s Episcopal Church officiating.
