Truman Preston Harris

Truman Preston Harris, 77, of Hopewell, VA, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 22, 2023. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 37 years, Marion Y. Harris; sister, Wanda Fleming; brother, Jack Harris; brother, Ted Pauley; mother, Mary Pauley; father, James Harris; and stepfather, Charles Pauley. He is survived by his son, Robert P. "Bobby" Harris and wife, Natalie; daughter, Michele H. Riddle and husband, James "Jimmy" Riddle; son, Richard A. Harris; grandchildren, Robby Harris, Danielle "Dani" Harris, Travis P. Riddle, Trevor Riddle, and Gracie Y. Harris; and a sister, Geneva Akins. Truman spent many years working as a painter and his hobbies included cars, restoring tractors, and painting. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and husband. Above all he loved spending time with family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. Friday, February 24, 2023, at J.T. Morriss & Son Hopewell Chapel 820 W. Broadway Ave. Hopewell, VA 23860. A funeral service will be held 2:00p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2023, at the Hopewell Chapel. Interment will follow at Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens.
