Tyler Anthony Botset, 29, of Midlothian, VA, passed away April 22, 2025. Born and raised in Chesterfield, VA, he was the son of Mark Anthony Botset and Beth Boyd Butler. He was a loving son, brother, and friend.
Tyler spent his time going to sporting events and especially loved cheering on the VCU men's basketball team, the Flying Squirrels, and his favorite Nascar driver, #9 Chase Elliot. Growing up, he was an avid fisherman and developed a passion for all things plants. From Garth Brooks to Phil Wickham, Tyler adored listening to music. But more than anything, Tyler cherished chatting with his family and friends over the phone, even if it was just for a minute. The love he had for the Lord showed through his compassion, kindness, and empathy for others. Tyler's memory will live on through his infectious smile that could brighten up anyone's day.
He is preceded in death by his Memaw, Frances Brown Butler, of Prince George; and his cousin, Kenny Botset, of Chester. He is survived by Mark and Julie Botset, his dad and stepmother, of Midlothian; Beth Butler and Jim Faris, his mom and father-figure, of Midlothian; sisters, Kristen Botset and long-term boyfriend, Carter Averette and Kaylee Botset and fiance, Alec American, of Midlothian; brother, Cody Botset, of Chester; stepsister, Erin Mushisky, of Midlothian; grandparents, Bill Butler and his wife, Amy Butler, of Prince George, along with Marsha and Richard Botset, of Chester; in addition to numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
