Valerie Joan Byrum

Valerie Armstrong Byrum, 61, of Spring Grove, VA., passed from this life on
Wednesday, January 6, 2016. She was the wife of Herbert E. Byrum, and a
retired Licensed Practical Nurse, who had the pleasure of assisting many
physicians bring newborns into the world, as well as assisting many patients
return to health, after physical setbacks. She is survived by her husband,
Herbert E. Byrum of Spring Grove; two sons, Cody C. Byrum of Williamsburg
and Jesse C. Byrum of Spring Grove; three sisters, Dianne A. Fales (Randy)
of Satellite Beach, FL; Elaine A. King (Earl) of Chesterfield; Mary A. Gay
(Jim) of Midlothian; one brother, Michael M. Armstrong of Prince George; one
brother-in-law, Curtis A. Byrum (Georgette); one sister-in-law, Charlene B.
Richardson (John), and 17 nieces and nephews. A Trisagion and funeral
service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at St.
Elpis Greek Orthodox Church in Hopewell, VA. Afterwards, a Makaria will be
held in the Ahepa Hall where the family will receive guests. Interment will
follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery in Suffolk, VA, at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of
