Van E. Harmison, 80, of Prince George died on Thursday, October 20, 2005 at his home. Born on May 17, 1925 in Winchester, VA, he was the son of the late Daniel and Elizabeth Harmison. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army Engineer Corps and served in WW II, Korea and Vietnam. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Doris Fowler Harmison; one son, Van D. Harmison and wife, Karen of Columbus, OH; one daughter, Pamela H. Landrum and husband, Richard of Colonial Heights; four grandchildren, Jeff, Angela, Carrie and Benjamin; two great-grandchildren, Della and Christopher; two sisters, Barbara Mershon of Frederick, MD and Cheryl Singhal of Silver Spring, MD; one brother, Chuck Harmison of Cedartown, GA; and five nieces and nephews. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, October 24th at Bermuda Memorial Park, Chester. The Rev. Dwight Nave, pastor of Gregory Memorial Presbyterian Church, will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, October 23rd at the Hopewell chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Prince George Volunteer Rescue Squad. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
