Velma Irlene Allen

Velma Irlene Allen, 88, of Hopewell, VA, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020. Velma was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Darrell George Allen and her parents, John B. and Charity Lemon. She is survived by her sister, Karen “Kay” Kirkpatrick; children Bobby Allen (Donna), Mary Kay Schroeter (Mike), John Carl Allen; grandchildren, Jennifer Gravina, Melissa Johnson, Darrellyn and Herbert Schroeter; great-grandchildren Lily and Bri Gravina and Danny Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday December 19, 2020 at Gregory Memorial Presbyterian Church. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Gregory Memorial Presbyterian Church or Burrowsville Volunteer Fire Department.
