Velma Funkhouser Fleming

Velma Montella Funkhouser Fleming, 83, of Hopewell, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2011. Mrs. Fleming was a secretary for ten years at the Nazareth Lutheran preschool. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Eula Funkhouser; husband, R. Eugene Fleming; son, Ralph B. Fleming; brothers, Garland and Wendell Funkhouser. She is survived by, a daughter, Barbara Wright; two granddaughters, Ariel and Calysta Wright; several cousins; and one special cousin, Christine Mathias; special friend, Al Schneider; and numerous other nieces, nephews, family, and friends. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at the Hopewell chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 16, 2011 at the Nazareth Lutheran Church with the Reverend David Voss officiating. Interment will occur at 4:00 PM at Mount Jackson Cemetery located in Mount Jackson, Virginia.
