Velma Dailey Sacra, 90, of Hopewell passed away on January 20, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Brackin Herbert and Virginia Frances DeHart Dailey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James E. Sacra; a son, James E. â??Skipperâ? Sacra, Jr.; two brothers, James A. and A. Wilson Dailey; a sister, Virginia Dailey Farrell; and a son-in-law, Ted Perreault. She was a life long member, and had been born and raised, in Woodlawn Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Sacra was a 1939 of Hopewell High School and was a retired employee of Allied Chemical, now Honeywell, Incorporated. Her infectious smile was one of her most wonderful traits, and could put a smile on anyoneâ??s face. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother, and will be missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her children, David L. Warren (Evelyn), H. Dailey Warren, Carol W. Perreault, Sandra S. Hughes (Fred); brother-in-law, Charles R. Sacra; ten grandchildren, David L. Warren, Jr. (Terri), Melinda W. Scott (Wayne), Kelly W. Sculthorpe, J. Marchington Altman, Jr. (Stephanie), Jerry F. Warren (Mary Ginny), Stephanie S. Satterwhite, Natalie A. Sharp (Chris), James R. Sacra, Sarah R. and Katherine S. Perreault; twenty great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her niece, Gina F. Chandler (David), and their children J. Dailey Chandler (Katie), Joseph W. Chandler (Mandie), and Andrew; two nephews, James and Nathaniel Dailey; and great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday at Woodlawn Presbyterian Church in Hopewell, with the Rev. Jeff Butler officiating. Interment to follow in Appomattox Cemetery.
