Vera Almarode

Vera DeMars Almarode, 78, of Disputanta, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2011. Mrs. Almarode enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and sitting on her front porch at the lake. She was also an avid movie collector, with an extensive collection. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Maxine DeMars; her husband, Otis Eugene Almarode; and a son, Ronnie Almarode. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Pizzullo and her husband Rick, Brenda Hudson and her husband William, and Gloria Jones and her husband Kenny; grandchildren, Michael, Jason, Adam, Billy, Cullen, Chrissy, Justin, Jennifer, and Berkley; eighteen great grandchildren; and two brothers, Sonny DeMars, and Mike DeMars. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Appomattox Cemetery in Hopewell, Virginia. Condolences may be registered online at www.jtmorriss.com .
