Vera Elliott

Vera Wright Elliott, age 65, of Richmond, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2008. She was born in Patrick County, Virginia, the daughter of the late Rev. Richard and Ada Foley Wright; she was also preceded in death by her brother, Oscar Wright. Not only was Vera a loving wife, mother and grandmother, but an employee with Chesterfield County for approximately 28 years and a bookkeeper with Elliott Construction Company for over 30 years. She was a member of Victory Tabernacle Church, as well as a former member of Belwood P.H. Church for over 20 years. Vera is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, William â??Billâ? Elliott; three children, Rachel E. Compton and husband, Charlie, Michael W. Elliott, and Patricia E. King and husband, Michael, all of Chesterfield; eight grandchildren, Tiffany Price and husband, Joshua, Stephanie King, Megan, Taylor & Sara Beck, Heather King, and Daniel and Emily Compton; seven siblings, Cornelia Phillips and husband, Olen, Betty Smith and husband, Sherman, David Wright and wife, Dot, Sylvia Fowler and husband, Joe, Tommy Wright and wife, Iris, Velma Tsongas and husband, Nick, and Alma Boyd and husband, Ronald; and 16 nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Chesterfield chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Thursday, November 13, 2008 from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 14, 2008 at Victory Tabernacle Church of God, 11700 Genito Road, Midlothian, Virginia 23112. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions are made to Victory Tabernacle Church of God.
