Vera Shockley

Vera Buchanan Shockley, 86, of Petersburg, widow of Frank Daniel Shockley, Jr., passed away Friday, May 18, 2012. Born in Clarksville, VA, she was the daughter of the late Rodwell Thomas and Bessie Williamson Buchanan. Mrs. Shockley was a member of the former Elm Street Baptist Church in Petersburg. She is survived by her sons, Frank Daniel Shockley, III and wife, Shirley of Frederick MD, Patrick T. Shockley and wife, Sandra of Sutherland, and Michael D. Shockley and wife, Donna of Richmond; grandchildren, Jeff S. Shockley, Tina L. Shockley, John A. Shockley, Tim J. Shockley, Matthew R. Shockley and wife, Sara, Jonathan D. Shockley and Courtney E. Robinson; great-grandchildren, Robert and Isabella; sisters, Eula Wallace, Janet Lane, Irma Moore, Geraldine Yeatts and Lila Fakoury. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 22nd at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Interment will follow at Bermuda Memorial Park, Chester, VA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on the day of the service.
