Vernice Birchett

Vernice Clark Birchett, 82, died August 4, 2004 in Outlook Pointe, Bon Air. She was born in King & Queen County and had been a former resident of Poplar St. Hopewell, since 1930. Mrs. Birchett was a retired Optometrist Assistant for Dr. Thomas H. Robertson, a member of Woodlawn Presbyterian Church, and a former President of the Virginia Optometrist Assistants Association from 1960-1962. she was preceded in death by her parents, James R. and Ida Durham Clark, and her husband, Thomas Drewry Birchett, Jr. Surviving are her sons, Brent D. Birchett of Bon Air, Va. and Brad T. Birchett of Richmond, a sister, Rachel C. Shornak and husband Robert of Hopewell, and numerous nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends Monday, August 9, 2004 form 7-8:30 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Edward Bellis, pastor of Woodlawn Presbyterian Church and Rev. Robert Floyd former pastor officiating. Interment will be in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens.
