Vernon Barnette

Vernon Ryland Barnette, Sr., 81, of Hopewell, passed away Sunday January 22, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents. William Edward & Bessie May Gunn Barnette and a son Vernon Ryland Barnette, Jr. Vernon loved farming and owned a farm in Lunenburg County., he was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served his country proudly for 32 years both active duty and the Marine Corps Reserve. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Reva C. Barnette, sons; Wallace Edward â??Eddieâ? Barnette & wife Shannon, Louis Alan Barnette & wife Denise all of Chesterfield, 2 grandchildren; Reva Marie Barnette of Hopewell, Samantha Jewel Barnette of Chesterfield, and a great grandchild; Destiny Davis of Hopewell. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday January 25, at 1:00 PM at Williams UMC, 4670 Longview Drive, Kenbridge, Virginia. Interment will follow in Williams UMC Cemetery.
