MSGT (Ret.) Vincent Wayne Logsdon, 87, of Chester, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2014. Born in Illinois, he was the son of the late Francis and Luella Logsdon. He was also preceded in death by a son, Anthony Logsdon; and two brothers, Edward and Paul Logsdon. Vincent Logsdon proudly served his country in the U.S. Army through two wars and retired after 22 years as a MSGT. He later went on to retire from his second career with Brown & Williamson Tobacco Co. in Petersburg. Mr. Logdon was a member of the Chester VFW #2239 and the Colonial Heights American Legion #284. He is survived by his beloved wife, Betty Jean Logsdon; daughter, Lou Ann Wargofcak and her husband, Joseph; son, Michael Logsdon and his wife, Melissa; five grandchildren, Christine, Joshua, Jessica, Alexandra, and Marcia; seven great-grandchildren; six siblings, Fred, Floyd, Carroll, Denotta, Sandra, and Desta. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow in Bermuda Memorial Park.
