Viola Virginia Cole Ingraham transitioned from this life on to glory on September 3, 2022, at the rich young age of 90. Viola was a determined, independent, sassy lady right up to the end of her days.
She loved reading, especially Amish novels, and her Bible. She listened to recorded sermons and music brought to her by the members of Grace Baptist Church. She also loved word search puzzles, and Western TV movies, unless they were Clint Eastwood. She said, "He is too slow." She was a hoot, and she loved grand-baby smiles and hugs, collecting them whenever possible. She was known by the generations of children as Mama, Grandma, Oma, and Memaw.
She was the daughter of the late John Henry Cole and Annie Josephine Meunier. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Willie, Jeff, Raymond, Alease, Alice, Elizabeth, and Edith.
She is survived by her children, Linda (Andy), Emmie (and the man who brought her food, David), Bobby (Kristie), and Lisa (Tim); 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren; constant niece, Sarah; along with other nieces, nephews, and friends.
Needless to say, it was always a loud, happy holiday gathering.
We wish to thank the members of Grace Baptist Church in North Dinwiddie for being faithful visitors and companions to her. You kept her inspired by your contributions. God bless each of you!
She will be greatly missed by all.
