Violet Houser

Violet Coleman Houser, 98, of Hopewell died Thursday, September 16, 2010. Mrs. Houser was born in Chase City, VA and had been a Hopewell resident since 1922. She was a member of First Christian Church. Mrs. Houser and her late husband, Albert owned and operated Houser Brothers Market for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin S. and Effie Ward Coleman, her husband, Albert George Houser, a son, Charles Clyde Crocker, grandson, Charles Cameron Crocker, her sisters, Alease Miller, Bessie Baldwin, Mamie Rideout, Lila Sadler, Kathryn C. Stroup, Leita C. Bednarick, and Leona C. Keener. Mrs. Houser is survived by her loving and devoted niece and care giver, Donna Carol Stewart and her husband Jay, two great nieces, Shay Stewart and Gina Stewart.. A funeral service will be held Monday, September 20, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service with Bobby Lane, Pastor of First Christian Church officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
