Virgil Samuel Johnston, Jr.

Virgil Samuel Johnston, Jr., 69, of Hopewell, VA passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Tuesday, January 30, 2018. He is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Margaret Johnston; and his wife, Rita K. Johnston. He is survived by his son, Erik Johnston and wife, Tina; grandchildren, Ashley Johnston, Tyler Siegel, Matthew Siegel, and Christian Siegel; sisters, Connie Johnston, and Margaret “Peggy” Johnston; as well as numerous extended family and friends. Virgil was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran serving two Tours of Duty during the Vietnam War. He was a lifelong member of the NRA. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 2:00pm on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 820 W. Broadway Ave, Hopewell, VA 23860. A funeral service will follow immediately at 2:00pm in the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions in honor of Virgil can be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.
