Virginia Daniel

Virginia L. Daniel, 99, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 20, 2009. She was born and raised in Mecklenburg County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Mary Gill, her husband Richard L. Daniel, her daughter, Louise Mentzer, her two sons, John L. Daniel, Sr. and Robert H. Daniel. Mrs. Daniel is survived by her daughter, Edna B. Thorpe of Richmond, VA., grandchildren, Curtis W. Thorpe (Diana), Charles L. Thorpe (Debra), Deborah Oâ??Day, Sandra Mentzer (Robb), Brenda Mills (Ron, John L. Daniel, Jr. (Kari), and Jimmy Thorpe, her brother, Preston Gill (Evelyn), and numerous nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren. Virginia worked for many years at LaCrosse Sportswear and enjoyed her church activities, gardening, and quilting. She was a devoted Christian and had unconditional love for her family. She spent the past ten years living at Elizabeth Crump Manor in Glen Allen, VA. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 22, 2009 in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home from 6:00 to 7:00 PM where a funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM.
