Virginia Beach, Virginia
Virginia Harris Harrell, 94, passed away Friday, July 27, 2007 at her home in Virginia Beach. She was the widow of E. Martin Harrell, her husband of over 60 years. Born June 2, 1913 she grew up in Branchville, Southampton County, Virginia, and was the daughter of the late John Z. and Amy E. Harris, and sister of the late Georgie â??Buckâ? Harris.
Virginia was a member of Virginia Beach United Methodist Church, a member and past president of the Chapter Q P.E.O., and a member of the Alanton Garden Club.
As involved as she was with church activities and the P.E.O., we will remember her more for who she was: a lady of quiet strength who never thought of herself, but put the needs and concerns of others first. Rather than complain or criticize, she would show love and concern. Her life was a true reflection of Godâ??s grace, compassion, and love. She will be greatly missed and always remembered.
She is survived by her daughter, Emmy Lou Spry; her son, John M. Harrell and his wife, Linda; grandchildren, Kelly Spry and his daughter, Taylor, Marty Spry, Amy Keanini, and Austin Harrell, and six other great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, do something kind for someone you love.
A memorial service will be held at Virginia Beach United Methodist Church, Virginia Beach, Virginia, on Monday, July 30, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Ted David officiating.
