Virginia Louise Hicks, 91, of Chesterfield, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2020. Born in Charlottesville, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Rupert and Ludy Sprouse, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Ira J. Hicks; brother, James; two sisters Margaret Shiflett and Nora Church; and her son, Charlie Gunter. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Rhoten; sister, Ruby Barnett; grandchildren, Charlie Shelton and wife, Christie, Ricky Rhoten and wife, Melissa, Christopher Shelton, Kathy DeWitt and husband, Chris; great-grandchildren, Brandon Powers and wife, Krystin, Ashley Powers, Lauren Short and husband, Austin, Kelly Shelton, Kyle Rhoten, Alex Shelton, Nathan Shelton, Marley Newcomb, Sydney Shelton, and Owen Powers; great-great-grandchildren, Everlee and Emerson Short; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandma, and nana. A graveside service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 in Bermuda Memorial Park, 1901 Bermuda Hundred Rd, Chester, VA 23836. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
