Virginia Hogwood

Virginia Doll â??Memaâ? Hogwood, 90, of Dinwiddie, passed away on October 26, 2011. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Edna Smelley Grizzard. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Earle Hogwood, and her son, Walter E. Hogwood. Mrs. Hogwood was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She always put her son and grandchildren first. She is survived by four grandchildren, Sheri Gardner and husband, David of Chesterfield, Shawn Herron and husband, Harvey of Petersburg, Brian Hogwood and wife Vickie of Dinwiddie, and Tim Alligrant and wife, Jenny of Texas; great-grandchildren, Ashley Minetree and husband, Richard, Stephanie Herron, Tiffani Gardner, Amy Gardner, Little â??Bâ?, Tommy, Gary and Letha Hogwood; one great-granddaughter, Kendall; and a daughter-in-law, Donna Hogwood. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to11:00 am Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 am Saturday following the visitation in Blandford Cemetery, with the Reverend Barry Ginn, officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Alzheimerâ??s Association.
