Virginia Cover Sayers

Virginia "Ginnie" Cover Sayers, 96, of Chesterfield, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mirrium and Dora Cover; and her husband, John G. Sayers. Ginnie retired from the City of Petersburg. She was a lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Petersburg. Most of all, she loved her family. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Ginnie is survived by her children, Barbara Mann (James), Georgia Faison (Marvin), and John Sayers (Tracy); grandchildren, Andrew Haws (Kendelin), Sarah Haws (Candace), and Alex Faison (Jada); great-granddaughter, Mia Faison; and extended family members and friends. The family will receive friends at The Country Club of Petersburg, 1250 Flank Road, on Sunday, November 5, 2023, from 2:00 - 4:00 PM. A private burial will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Crater Road Community Hospice, Chesterfield Professional Firefighters Charitable Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
