Virginia Fuquay Spivey

Virginia Fuquay Spivey, 98, of Chester, VA, died Monday, August 6, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Pritchard and Ruth Hobby Fuquay; her husband of 65 years, Fred W. Spivey; a son, Fred D. Spivey; a granddaughter, Christa S. Hare; and a brother, Linwood Fuquay. Mrs. Spivey was a longtime member of Kingsland Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school until she was 90 years old. She retired after 22 years as a cafeteria manager for Chesterfield County Public Schools. Mrs. Spivey is survived by a son, Carl G. Spivey and wife, Beverly D. Spivey; daughter-in-law, Beverley Q. Spivey; grandsons, D. Seth Spivey and Bradford D. Spivey; great-grandchildren, Savannah G. Hare, Parker D. Hare, and Garreth D. Spivey. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Kingsland Baptist Church followed by interment at Sunset Memorial Park.
