Virginia Brockwell Thompson

Virginia B. Thompson, 63, of Dinwiddie, passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Josie Harrison Brockwell; and son, John Daniel Thompson. Virginia was not just a mother to her own children, but to many. She is survived by her husband, Charles R. Thompson, Jr.; four children, Rebecca T. Coleman (Lawrence, Jr.), Joseph R. Thompson, Sr. (Lydia), Sarah R.T. Lassiter (Alfred), and Matthew L. Thompson; eight grandchildren, Ryleigh N. Coleman, Sydney D. Coleman, Cole Coleman, Isabella D. Thompson, Joseph R. Thompson, Jr., Blakely L. Thompson, Joshua B. Thompson and Michael C. Thompson; and great-granddaughter, Olivia A. Read. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Martin’s Brandon Episcopal Church, 18706 James River Dr., Disputanta, VA 23842. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Edwards Masonic Lodge #308 or Order of the Eastern Star #126 of Stony Creek, 12445 Main Street, Stony Creek, VA 23882.
