Virginia Basl Tomko, 91, of Prince George, Virginia, died February 7, 2005 in Southside Regional Medical Center..
She was a very generous lady, always sharing flowers from her garden and delicious food from her kitchen. She was a member of Bethlehem Congregational Church where she served as Sunday School teacher and choir member for many years. She was a member of the Willing Workers and the Piecemakers, the quilt guild of her church. Her needlecraft talents earned her many ribbons and awards. She was also a member of the Home Demonstration
Club for many years.
She was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Kvasnicka Basl and was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, John C. Tomko and great grandson Daniel Tomko Huffine. Survivors include a son John C. Tomko, Jr. and wife Carolyn of Jonesborough, Tennessee. daughter Virginia T. Duncan and husband Vernon of Prince George, Virginia, granddaughter Angela T. Huffine and husband Daniel of Jonesborough, Tennessee, grandson John C. Tomko III and wife Allison of West Jefferson, North Carolina, and great-grandson Christopher Tomko of West Jefferson, North Carolina.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 9, 2005 in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son and Cremation Service from 7 ? 8:30 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 10, 2005 at 11 a.m. in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens, Prince George, Virginia with The Rev. Bill Presley, retired minister of Reynoldson Baptist Church, Gates, North Carolina, officiating.
