Virginia Johnston Whittle

Virginia Johnston Whittle, beloved mother, 94, of Chester passed away on Friday, March 03, 2017. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard “Dick” Whittle, Sr.; parents, Frank C. and Louise Woltz Johnston; five brothers, George E. Johnston, Frank C. Johnston, Jr., Julian A. Johnston, James W. Johnston and Herbert P. Johnston; four sisters, Mary L. Johnston, Margaret J. Pflugradt Hinson, Nellie J. Castleberry and Annie L. Johnston. Virginia was an avid gardener. She enjoyed watching the news and the Christian television stations. She was a member of Assembly of God Church in Colonial Heights for many years. She is survived by her loving children, Richard T. Whittle, Jr. and wife, Cheryl, Barbara A. McNeal, and Thomas E. Whittle; five grandchildren, Richard T. Whittle, III and wife, Karie, H. Daniel Williamson, III and Paige, Wendy W. Plear and husband, Dennis, Danny Whittle and wife, Kelly, and James D. McNeal and Donna; eleven great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Herman L. Johnston, Robert G. Johnston and Richard T. Johnston; special nephew, George “Junnie” Johnston; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Chester Chapel of J.T.
