VIVIAN L. LEWIS, 85, went to be with the Lord Sunday, October 9, 2005. Born in Isle of Wight County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Nathan Thomas Lewis and Hettye Davis Lewis. She was the widow of E. Rowland Lewis, a homemaker, and member of Bethany Presbyterian Church in Zuni. She loved the church and served as an active and devoted member and Elder for most of her adult life. She was past president of the Bethany Presbyterian Women of the Church, served as superintendent of the Sunday School, was a longtime member of the Bethany Choir and was chairman of the Congregational Care committee for many years. Vivian was so devoted to inviting people to the church and to blessing people with her many acts of kindness that her church nickname became ?Bless You?! When people saw Vivian coming they would say, ?Here comes Bles U!?.

Mrs. Lewis is survived by her daughters, Nancy L. White and husband, Marc, of Chesapeake, and Sherilyn L. Leath and husband, Bill, of Marietta, GA; four grandchildren, Gregory Pope, Heather Radford, Hannah White, Noah White; and three great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by a sister, Marjorie Bissett, and a brother, Calvin Lewis.

A Celebration of Vivian?s life will be held at Bethany Presbyterian Church, Zuni, Virginia, on Thursday, October 13, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Douglas Van Neal and the Rev. Steve Weed officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Walters, Virginia. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, October 12, 2005, 6:00 pm until 8:30 pm at Purviance Funeral Home Chapel, Wakefield, and on Thursday after the burial the family will return to the church for a time of refreshment and visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bethany Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 41, Zuni, Virginia 23898. Condolences may be posted at www.jtmorriss.com .
