Walter Eugene Beckner

Walter E. “Buddy” Beckner, 81, of Chester passed away peacefully on Monday, February 8, 2021. Born November 11, 1939, he was the son of the late Walter Hayes and Mary Elizabeth Beckner. After a dedicated 36-year career, Buddy retired from Reynolds Bellwood Printing Plant. He enjoyed drag racing, fishing, woodworking, and was an excellent golfer. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 blessed years, Marjorie B. Beckner; daughter, Trudy B. Jones (Terry); son, Greg Beckner (Tammy); grandchildren, Brad Jones (Tiffany), Katelyn Jones, Ashley Beckner, Austin Beckner, Ryan Fulcher; great-grandchildren, Madison Beckner, Jordan Beckner, Arya Jones, Finn Fulcher; sister, Mary Jane Lowman; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2021 in Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, National Capital Area Chapter, 8180 Greensboro Drive, Suite 400, McLean, VA 22102.
